Can't turn off silent mode warnings

What’s the point of Silent Mode if I have to close 4 popups in 4 minutes asking me if I want to turn off silent mode?

I am doubly annoyed now. It’s opening that silent mode box almost every time I click a link to change pages in my browser. It’s about to be history

Unfortunately there are other areas that the supposed Silent mode doesn’t obey.

Managing pop-up notifications in Avast Antivirus Premium

  • Scroll down to Stop offers for other products.
  • If you use Avast Premium Security, you can additionally stop seeing offers for other Avast products and Personalised Discounts. ** Avast UI > Menu > Settings > General > Personal Privacy.
  • Also check the AvastUI > Menu > Settings > General - Notifications, I would suggest using the Pop-up Notifications treatment - Limited Mode

I’m not having any of these problems The only problem I’m having is the one described. The window gets in my face and blocks my work so I have to close it. Even minimizing fails to work. It pops up still whenever it wants to.

Same here. If it won’t pay heed to this setting, how many other settings like privacy etc is it also ignoring? Huge red flag that this program can NOT be trusted. We know it’s rifling through all our system settings because of the warnings it gives. What else is it looking through and uploading to Avast? This is getting close to being a virus itself. Invasive, potentially stealing data, etc.

I’m getting those alerts even after UNINSTALLING Avast ! Previously I posted that minimising instead of closing them prevented their interruptions, but that is NOT the case - they interrupt anyway.

The point being if you don’t try it you will never know.

I’m just an Avast Free user trying to help other Avast users. Your system your choice.

Same problem here, I had to disable all protection shield to get them to stop, I’m not sure if it will pop up again but what’s the point of paying a premium version if it will just gets me annoyed.

Have you tried setting notifications to “limited mode” rather than “silent mode” as DavidR suggests above?

Even though it literally makes no sense to lower the bar (silent to limited), some people say that this solves the problem.
As for me, I’ve been in limited mode for over a year and haven’t encountered the problem you’ve been having for the past three days.

Thank you for your suggestion DaveR, it makes absolutely no sense but switching to Limited Mode from Silent +Threat has worked (at least for the past 15 minutes!) I think you may have saved my sanity!!
