Can't uninstall any program on my PC

when I try to uninstall anything on my pc via the Windows control Panel (I am running Windows 7), I get 26 consecutive warning messages that says avast has blocked a threat. Then the uninstall fails with an NSIS Error.

The files that are blocked are all in this folder:

C:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Temp~nsu.tmp\

and are called AU.exe - Zu.exe (one for every letter of the alphabet).

I have tried to uninstall 5 different programs now and they are all giving me the same problem. Any idea what could be causing this or how to fix it?
