Can't uninstall any program on my PC

when I try to uninstall anything on my pc via the Windows control Panel (I am running Windows 7), I get 26 consecutive warning messages that says avast has blocked a threat. Then the uninstall fails with an NSIS Error.

The files that are blocked are all in this folder:

C:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Temp~nsu.tmp\

and are called AU.exe - Zu.exe (one for every letter of the alphabet).

I have tried to uninstall 5 different programs now and they are all giving me the same problem. Any idea what could be causing this or how to fix it?

Logs are attached… Thanks in advance for the help!

try this … clear your temp folders with this and reboot

TFC - cleaner http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/files/file/187-tfc-temp-file-cleaner-by-oldtimer/

any change?

Tried that and it did not work… I discovered one thing though… all of the programs I was trying to uninstall were Google programs (Music, Android SDK, etc.). Other programs will uninstall. I have not been able to find any info on this problem with Google apps. Any thoughts?

Torrent programs (Popcorn TImer, uTorrent).

Thanks for the help. Attached is the log after running the fix in FRST.exe

Are you able to uninstall now ?

No, same problem. It is like the uninstaller is missing (but I don’t get why the process would create all those exe files that avast thinks are infected).

Any other thoughts? And thanks again for the help!

(but I don't get why the process would create all those exe files that avast thinks are infected).
what are the exat messages from avast ...... you may post screenshots

These are three of the messages from avast… as you can see there are 26 of them (one for each letter of the alphabet). All the messages are exactly the same except for the filename.

Filerep suggests that it is an unusual file. Do you have hardened mode set to aggressive ?

If you do then temporarily disable file shield and uninstall one of the programmes, let me know how that goes

That worked… I am all set now! Thank you very, very much for the help!

OK temporarily disable file shield and uninstall the remainder of the programmes, then let me know of any outstanding problems

Everything uninstalled… All back to normal.

Thanks for the help!

In that case methinks I will send you on your merry way
