I am currently using the free avast antivirus version, but it has expired and now when I try to uninstall it the message “unistallation unsuccessful” pops up every time. It doesn’t help restard the comp or try and download again.
Can anyone help?
Try using the uninstallation utility.
Download it from here and follow the instructions.
you could have avast installed and only re registry for a new key to your avast.
I suggest an installation from scratch:
- Download the latest version of avast! Uninstall Utility and save it.
- Download the latest avast! version and save it.
- Uninstall avast from Control Panel (if possible). If, for any reason, you can’t run it, try booting in Safe Mode and doing it from there. Anyway, boot after that.
- Run the avast! Uninstall Utility saved on 1. If, for any reason, you can’t run it, try booting in Safe Mode and doing it from there. Anyway, boot after you’ve run it.
- Install avast! using the setup saved on 2. Boot.
- Register your free copy or add the license key for Pro.
- Check and post the results.
I think I’ve tried pretty much every delete-programs there is to find on the internet, but none seem to be able to delete avast. One of the programs even said that the files I wanna delete dont exist anymore, even though I can still see them. Since I’m not very smart when it comes to computers I’m having a hard time following what Safe Mode wants me to do to get rid of the problem.
