can't update anymore

Hi , the auto update won’t work : when I reboot I have a error message ,
when I try manualy nothig happens,
and even when I downloaded the latest VRDB, I have this error when I try to install :
" can’t install VPS update, please report the following errorcodes :
SI: 0x00000002
ST: 0x00000002
LE: 0x00000000. "

My Sys :
XP Pro Sp2
avast Build 4.7.1001
VRDB : 000752-0

any help would be appreciated .

Has your registration, Updates expiration date expired, check the about avast, right click the avast icon ?

I don’t think so :

I even added " AlwaysConnectedWaitSeconds=120 " in the avast4.ini so it’ won’t try to update Right away
when I reboot but no help …
Avast still try to update itself but have error message each time , BTW , when the alert window pop up appear
and click on the link to get more info , nothing happens .

I just tried to repair it via the add/remove control , and I have this error :

“avast!
A setiface error has occurred :2
Try to reinstall or contact support , please.”

a setiface ??

reinstalling it would be my next move , unless you guys have better suggestions.

Do you use any other antivirus in your computer?

Can you try to repair your installation?
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove. Then choose Repair function in the popup window (Repair). You must be connected to the internet while repairing.

If this does not help, can you uninstall / boot / install / boot again?

which bring me to my next question , how can I safely uninstall Avast manually?

And no I don’t use any other antivirus , I use spybot though , and my firewall is Sygate personal firewall pro .

should have read the FAQ entirely before !
to reply to my own question ,
I found out there is a Avast uninstaller :aswclear , so I’ m going to give it a shot .

I suggest an installation from the scratch:

Uninstall avast from Control Panel first.
Boot.
Use Avast Uninstall for complete uninstallation.
Boot.
Install again the last version.
Boot.
Check and post the results.
