CAN'T UPDATE VIRUS DEFINITION ! ! !

Hello everyone,

for reasons I can’t explain, my provider do not allow me to connect to ANY anti virus update server, whatsoever. I just DL Avast! Home edition, seems great, but I can’t test it, since I cannot update it. Is there a place on the Avast! site where I could manually DL the virus definition, and install them “by hand” ?
Norton AV does it.
So does Avast ?

Are you shure your firewall (if you have one) is correctly setup ?

Sound like something messed your hosts file. Click on the link in my signature and follow the instructions in the malware removal section. Then get back here and let us know if the problem is solved or not.

As for the malware section, wow ! I’m reading every thing.
Really useful. I’m no a pro on this topic, but what you say
is pure gold.

Only the innocent sleeps in peace, because he doesn’t know he threats…

If anyone has a question about Vespas ( the italian scooter ) or photography, just ask. I’m more skilled onto this than into AVs !
