carnt set up mail protection wizard?

hi there,

every time i try and set mail protection wizard up, i get basic setting screen and click automatically protect all my accounts, i then get congratulations… i have ented all the information required… but i am sure in the past i had to enter the incoming and outgoing mail servers, iam trying to use a POP3 email account with thunderbird, thanks 4 any info Adam

Thunderbird must be configurated manually

Pop3 (Inbound):

Server name: 127.0.0.1
User name: YourUserName#YourPopServerName
Port: 110

Smtp (Outbound):
Server name: 127.0.0.1
User name: YourUserName#YourSmtpServerName
Port: 25

Note, probably you should run Mail Protection Wizard to have ashMaiSv.exe automatically running at Windows startup.

Do you use any spam killer?

Ensure that your email program is closed. Start > All Programs > Avast Anti-virus > Mail Protection Wizard.

You should also read your avast help file and or visit the User’s FAQ thread, it will give you a lot of useful advice.

If you make your reply outside of the quoted text it is easier to see. By Spam Killer we are talking about email spam killer software that may require integration with avast. The ones you gave are daware/spyware programs.

It’s not easy to know what do you mean by your last post…
Anyway, you must change manually the setting of the email accounts into Thunderbird: Menu Tools > Account settings
