Catalyst and Avast 5

After updating the avast program to v5.1.889 I’ve started to getting problems with my graphic card driver. its always complaining when I restart the computer.

I use Win7 x64, Avast Antivirus 5.1.889, release date 16.1.2011.

Anyone know why?

Secondly, I dislike the AVAST firewall alot… Is there a way to turn it of without getting “warning” on top of the Avast icon in the lower right?

I much more prefer to use PCTOOLs firewall.

You don’t say what avast version you are using, AIS is the only one with a firewall, if that is correct rather than stop it you can actually uninstall it (see below). This prevents having to kill the message avastUI, Settings, Status Bar, uncheck the firewall monitoring option.

From windows Add Remove Programs, Avast, Change Remove, select Change, from the new window uncheck the firewall module and OK your way out, reboot and the firewall should be gone.

You don’t say what the graphics driver is ?

Check the C:\ProgramData\Alwil Software\Avast5\report\BehaviorShield.txt using notepad and see if there are any references to that graphics driver. Copy and paste any path for the driver and add it to the Behaviour Shield, Expert Settings, Trusted processes.

Let the firewall on “Auto-decide” and set the popups interval to zero.

I used the latest version. Ive uninstalled both to see if that would help and then reinstall it.

The Avast is the pro version.
Catalyst is 10.12.

Strangely enough they seems to get happy along on my other two computers…

After uninstallation the computer is screwed… See picture;

This picture is from my Computer now. The one below here is more like it should have been. This is the one I’m sitting on.

I smell a reinstallation… Not that its not supposed to be reinstalled, just hoped it would have waited some more. Since my new drive aren’t to arrive in a week.

Any idea what this can be?
