Are you operating windows Vista/7 ? If so you can reset the tray icons and then let them repopulate
There is a small vbs here that will do the job for you http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/clear-customize-notifications-tray-items-windows-7-vista-xp/
Or you can use the manual instructions
Not sure what the question is that you are trying to ask ?
The only thing I can find on CAvastTrayIcon is that it is the Window Title for avastUI.exe (and that is where the tray icon would be extracted from.
Looking at your image it appears that your tray icons are somehow display the name and not just the tray icons.
Hopefully essexboy’s suggestion will restore normal tray icon function.

FreeStyler, I suggest an installation from scratch:
- Download the latest version of avast! Uninstall Utility and save it.
- Download the latest avast! version and save it.
- (Optional) If you want, save your avast! settings for later restoration (Settings > Maintenance > Back up).
- Uninstall avast from Control Panel (if possible). If, for any reason, you can’t run it, try booting in Safe Mode and doing it from there. Anyway, boot after that.
- Run the avast! Uninstall Utility saved on 1 in Safe Mode. Boot after you’ve run it. Repeat this for any major avast! version you have ever installed/upgraded in your computer.
- Install avast! using the setup saved on 2. Boot.
- Register your free copy or add the license key for Pro. Or even upgrade your key from old versions.
- Check and post the results. If, for any reason, you did not solve, try doing the step 3 in Safe Mode anyway.
It’s helped for first time, but it shows again! Pls fix this bug

What drive do you have windows on and what drive is Avast on - are they the same ?
Drive is C for all
Lets have a quick look at the start/run keys as the solution may be there
Download OTL to your Desktop
[*]Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
[*]Select All Users
[*]Under the Custom Scan box paste this in
netsvcs
%SYSTEMDRIVE%*.exe
[*]Click the Quick Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
[*]When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
[*]Post both logs
