Yep, I’ve ran cc cleaner with every AV I’ve used for a number of years including Avast! which I use currently, I’d so it’s one of the recommended programs to have, never had issues with it :).
i use it on all computers… i let it delete everything it find…same with the register clean
running it with default settings it has never created any problems for me
what CC removes from registry i guess is just very safe stuff to remove
i also use Eusing free that does a much deeper scan…finds a lot after a cc scan
It deleted my desktop background, didn’t remember my saved passwords, had to answer some security questions before I could access one checking account (Haven’t tried to sign on to the other ones yet), all of the urls in my menu bar were deleted …I could go on and on about this but believe me I’ll never use any kind of cleaner again.
I didn’t tick any boxes. I just ran the scan and let it do its thing. Thank goodness I didn’t do the registry scan.
Iv not seen CCleaner remove passwords before unless the boxes for saved passwords was actually ticked and by default it is not so i dont know what you’ve done there but something isnt right.
Neither have I, of all of the cleaners, ccleaner is one of the most benign (read safer) programs. Even on default settings, but it is always best to examine all of those default settings as there might be some you don’t want (such as the clearing of avast6 option in the Application tab). This however requires a degree of knowledge of what is on your system and what it does.
Well, by default in the Windows tab, passwords aren’t checked on the list for removals. The same appears to be correct in the Applications tab, passwords are unchecked. So I have no idea where your passwords went.
