Ccleaner and avast?

Hello, this might be the stupidestand most unnecessary question ever… but anyways…

when i run Ccleaner, it detects avast 6, even tho im running avast 7… how do i make ccleaner to recognize avast 7??

Regards plzzhelp

lol is that really a problem ??? … and on a side note I would un-check the Avast entry in CCleaner, as logs can be useful.

ps: and if you’re really worried about the detected version number, may be ask on CC forums ?

I do not let CCleaner clean up avast! files.

haha i know… first world problem

but why not clean avast logs?? besides as i know, Avast! cleans the logs every 30 days or so…so they will get removed sooner or later…

Regards Plzzhelp

so why not let Avast do the cleaning once a month, instead of cleaning logs that can be needed in the meantime? … I guess you’re running CC once a day so …

you’re right, but what kind of information does the logs have that can be necessary?? i actually have no idea…

regards

just go to C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log and see for yourself, that’s needed for troubleshooting purposes etc…

I think having avast ticked in CCleaner also delets the persistant cache if i remember correctly.

nooo … ;D … no, fortunately not

Correct me if Im wrong, but isnt this an issue that should be addresses, not re-directed? A great tool, CCleaner, is misidentifying the Avast version in use. It sound like this guy is NOT letting CCleaner clean it up but is more concerned on the proper ID of Avast version.

It’s a problem that lays with Piriform not avast.

It will no doubt take a little time before avast7 was added to the list for CCleaner, but for the most part avast7 uses the same folder structure as avast6, depends entirely how you installed avast6, an update from avast5 (would have retained ALWIL Software structure) or a clean install (Would have Avast Software.

Do you happen to also use CCenhancer, that ads many new programs to CCleaner, the problem being there are lots of redundant or applications in the list that aren’t even installed.

As has been mentioned it isn’t an avast issue.

since CCleaner release new versions all the time.....it will soon be fixed

Looks like the prob will never get fixed haha ^^ read this… : http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=35379

Well my avast install was a complete clean install with a full manual clean of the registry so there was not even one little bit left of version 6 yet when i installed version 7 CCleaner marks it as 6 so i still think the problem lie’s with piriform with how ccleaner doesn’t recognise the updated registry keys.

corresponding log files will still be cleaned if you want it so that’s no big deal.
