CCleaner.exe is win32:Malware-gen ?

Virus definition 120205-0 indicated the above is malware while 42 out of 43 of the scanner on virustotal.com say no. Is it another false alarm ?

please submit it through Avast chest (that’s the second FP now in 24h (following Facebook Messenger for Windows)

No alert here on CCleaner.exe…! *
You can report a possible FP here: http://www.avast.com/contact-form.php?loadStyles

  • Edit: I’m still on version 3.14, guess that makes the difference.

Same Here, was installing ccleaner’s latest version 3.15.1643 today and avast reported that there is malware in it, had to add ccleaner to exceptions to make it work.

Confirm! There is a false alarm on Ccleaner.

Three seconds after posting of this … an update to 120501-1 came through… Problem solved. Impressive response time.

First thread I found.

vps:120205-1 fixes the detection with CCleaner. Updating should solve this issue.

(Not exactly sure on other detections though…)

Just did a manual update and the false positives are now gone! That was fast!
