CCleaner.lnk with 820 MB ???

I was defraggling my harddrive and one of the file that needed it was a link to CCleaner (which I am using and which is installed).

Clicking the link does not cause anything noticable, but while my normal desktop link to CC has 900 bytes, this link according to properties has 800MB !!!

What is this, and how should I proceed?

Thank you

You’ve already probably answered your own question.
The file needs defragging.
Is this truly a link or a copy of the exe file ???

the best to answer that i guess is over at piriform forum …where you already have posted

somone asking the same at pcpitstop http://forums.pcpitstop.com/index.php?/topic/194115-ccleanerlnk/

The file does not need defraggling and cannot be either… I am certainly not going to click on it to find out that it is an exe file, but not from ccleaner. How could it be? 820MB?

I guess uninstall and reinstall is the best option. But if that deletes the link? And why 820MB?

Thank you

If you’re settings hide extensions, then you wouldn’t know by simply looking at the file if it’s a link or an exe.
You could however right click the file and then check properties and that would also tell you what you’re dealing with.
