So new free version of Ccleaner will not allow me to uncheck these 2 option, really!!! Come on Avast, your going downhill fast, expect me and many others to uninstall Ccleaner now unless this is rectified promptly.
Reported on Developer site.
What version number is this?
version 5.43.6520
Not sure if that will help Bob, I am assuming that this was a planned feature in the newest version.
Here’s your answer: 5.43.6520

A new feature that can’t be changed isn’t a feature but an admission of “guilt”.
I see no reason why they would go to the trouble to have these options if there is no way to disable them.
Looks like I will be sticking with the older version until Avast resolve this nonsense.
A little bit like the Avast Privacy settings, but at least they can be unchecked.
I think this has been done intentionally (but only speculating atm) so only professional users of CCleaner are able to disable those options.
This could backfire by people continuing to use older or portable versions of the products.
Some may disable Active Monitoring which would result in CCleaner to not run in memory which I would assume would lead to no ads.
I’ve never used Active monitoring.
Snap, none of my installations use any of the three monitoring options, two of them because they are Pro options, leaving only the Active Monitoring. I can’t see the point in active monitoring I just run it once a week before I do my drive image backup.
Another good software gone to the dumps

Yup. One of the most respected and useful tools of the last decade has just turned into spyware.
I wonder if the portable version is the same?
I am uninstalling now.
Two CCleaner and one Piriform registry entries left over after removing CCleaner…and one AvastAdSDK registry entry.
@CraigB,
Just checked my registry but have no such entry ???

I’m on Windows 10 (1803) 64 bit with Avast Free and the latest Ccleaner (Free) no such entry in the reg.
Only difference is there is no Avast on these systems, whether that makes a difference I cant say :-\

No reason to blame Avast, this was the decision of CCleaner team because of GDPR, but it should be visible for users to change it (it’s same as in Avast). We will ask them to change it.
Much appreciated pk 8)
