Certain .exes don't show up in Behavior trusted process setting

Certain .exe don’t show up to allow in trusted process list. They are there, just not from the Avast list.

For one example, nvvsvc.exe in System 32, from Nvidia doesn’t show up. Is there a reason it doesn’t show up to select while others do?

Windows 7 x64 Avast free.

I also had nvsvc64.dll show up in the Behavior Shield analyze today, also from Nvidia. Just to let you know.

I’m not sure I understand what you mean… can you please post some more details? A screenshot maybe?

Say I want to add the nvvsvc.exe process that runs on my system and shows in task manager, so I go to the Behavior Shield settings to add it to the trusted processes list. But when I go to Browse from that setting in Avast, and find the path that the nvvsvc.exe is located at, it doesn’t show it to me from Avast to add it to the list.

It’s there in the path if I go to it with Windows Explorer, but not from the Browse in Avast. Why not?

This is with other processes as well. Some show up in Browse and I can add them to the trusted process list, while others don’t show up, but they’re obviously there on my system.

Have you tried manually copying and pasting the path into the trusted processes list?
It is possible to do this.

What are the other processes that don’t show up?
I don’t have that file, maybe I have others on this system (win7 64) that show the same behavior

No, haven’t tried to manually enter the full path, I’ll do that. But was just wondering why it doesn’t show up in Browse to automatically chose some of them like it should I would assume.

Another one is audiodg.exe, which is in system32 also, but doesn’t show up also.

Ok, I know what you mean now. audiodg.exe is there in explorer, but is not shown in the open/browse window when entering into the trusted applications. Don’t know why.

Manually entering it should work though…

OK, I see… System32 folder on 64bit OSes.
It’s not correct, but it will need a replacement for the whole open dialog… so I guess it won’t be corrected for the next build.

This still hasn’t been addressed.

Are you using the last stable version?

Yep. Clean install of it. Still can’t find certain .exes like in system32 folder.

Yes, we’re aware of it, it will need bigger changes.
If you want to enter a particular file into the list, please enter it manually (or copy&paste the path from Windows Explorer).
