Hello browser-users,
In the IE browser in-built is chktrust, so you can check the certificate of a program before download. How is this with FF?
Sometimes I find extensions that are promishing, but there is no certificate.
I download Digger an extension to dig through URLs from the Go button context menu, made by: Stephen Clavering, see his page: http://clav.mozdev.org/.
The installation is from a secured site. No problem.
But in general it would be good if chktrust or similar would come to FF as well. Not everybody uses chktrust, but security people always do.
My questions here:
- Would you trust every FF enthusiast?
Some will be educated folk, others may just be incompetent or untrustworthy. No guarantee there. - Do you trust users to get all the new, patched, source binaries?
- And then do you think that all the bugs are immediately reported, or there are those people who like to exploit them first?
What has been done about these problems of the safer browsers? Is it already solved? Anyone to comment,
greets,
polonus
