Hi,
I’ve got a customer using a (localhost)\AVASTSBC with Integrated Security as SQL Server instance for ABP.
Now, customer wants to use his dedicated SQL Server, a remote SQL Server for ABP.
How and where I have to change this configuration?:
(localhost)\AVASTSBC → SRVSQL\AVAST
Integrated Security → SQL Security (using user ‘sa’).
Hi edj,
I think this has to be done in one place:
:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Administration Console\Avast.Sbc.Service.exe.cfg
Maybe also in
:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Administration Console\Config.txt
But I guess the last one is only the setup documentation file created by the intaller.
The migration should be possible by detaching the old database from the the old SQL server and attaching it to the new one. Maybe you also need to check security logins, but I didn’t take a closer look now.
Eventually there is an easier way, which already exists of which could be implemented in the future, since changing databases didn’t occur that often at one customer, but I would say that this operation is very common thing which is done when migrations or resources are being shifted.
Thanks,
I think that we need an option to change the database setup in the SBC. This option could be very interesting in a failure, in configuration change, in a server consolidation, in a RDP…
In ADNM this is something very easy with the AMS Tools: change the database server, check the connection, restore the database, create de database…
Hi edj,
fully agree with that. Why not take the good ideas from the ADNM to the new product as well. I think we can take that to the list discussed in the other area
