I wanted to change, in Add/Remove, what shields run (to see if I could improve booting time and Opera start time). I assumed that when I ask for change, that the service would stop without me stopping it. Well, as avast was going through its installing, Emergency update kicked in.
Do I now have a corrupted installation? Is the service not turned off when Change or Repair is contemplated? If so it doesn’t sound good to me.
