changing computer group's properties

I don’t understand if I’m doing something wrong or this is a bug.

Selecting the properties of “Computer catalogue”, I can change the properties without problems. If I later create another group of computer, I cannot change the properties: it’s all disabled except the “general” tab. The properties of each new group I create are inherited by the parent and that’s OK, but it is strange I cannot change anything but the name.

Is this behaviour by design? If so, there something I didn’t understood.

I have just downloaded and installed ADNM version 4.6.280

Thanks in advice.

Of course, this is a feature. This is how the whole inheritance thing works
Try the right mouse button.

Or maybe, have a look in the Administrator’s Guide - I know, it’s a bit long, but sometimes it even contains some useful info

Thanks

I took the manual to bed with me last night. Good read! Well worth the 40 minutes!

I was clicking in the wrong place. I think it is not comfortable to “unlock” every single control with many right clicks: there should be a way to do it quicker, but this is only an improvement.

Thanks again.

Well, on the other hand, you usually don’t want to change every setting, do you?
I mean, for the most part, the defaults are OK, aren’t they?

Cheers

Of course I don’t usually change all the settings, and I also found the default values appropriate.
