Changing Computers - XP to Windows 7

I am running Avast Pro on my Windows XP computer. I am upgrading to a faster computer that will be running Windows 7.
Can I switch my Avast Pro over to the new computer- or do I need to get a version for that OS?

You should be fine, the setup file is universal across all Windows versions that are supported.

You can download avast Pro http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/setup_av_pro.exe and install that on your new system. Works across all supported OSes including win7.

transfer the license.avastlic file that you saved (you did didn’t you) to your new system and double click that it should apply that license to the new system, so it shows the same period remaining on the license.

Uninstall avast pro from the old system so it is only installed on the one system.
