Changing IMAP Port

Hi, first of all, Avast is a great product and thanks for all the efforts.

I access my mail via IMAP using Thunderbird client, and our corporate firewall tends to close long-running connections on certain ports including IMAP port 143. In other words, my connections would get closed unexpectedly. Before Avast, I used to get around this by connecting to a ‘proxy’ port (fastmail.fm mail service provides IMAP on any port except port 80) and selected port 22 (SSH port) because the corporate firewall doesn’t close long-running connections on that port. However, with Avast Internet Mail provider, the server port is not configurable through the GUI. Is there any way I can change the server port from other than 143?

Please note that I’m not looking to change the port that it listens to on localhost, but rather to change the port that it connects to on the server.

Thanks!

Silly me. It was actually pretty easy to do. All I had to do was specify the port in the username string in Thunderbird/mail client, such as:

host: localhost
username: user#servername_or_ip:22

Once again, Avast is great. Thanks Alwil developers.
