How on earth do I change the message stamp on outgoing mail? (aswClnTg.htm and .txt)
In earlier versions I could edit the message inside avast without problems.
Now it’s not possible? or…
Interesting, I wonder if the self-defence also protects these avast files ?
Yes it is, Program Settings, Troubleshooting and temp disable self-defence, do your edits and enable again.
Thanks!
You are right
This shouldn’t be necessary to do when you are changing the files inside avast… 8)
Ah but the problem is it isn’t avast editing the file in ‘notepad,’ but you an outside influence ;D
I don’t know you ellect to edit and avast opens the file in note pad but the actual save is in notepad and I don’t know if there is a way to hold parameters like what opened notepad and the file.
I have previously been able to edit the avast4.ini with a cautionary pop-up so there must be some sort of recognition on that. When you introduce self-defence you are going to experience things like this as if it is made too easy to circumvent it then the self-defence becomes meaningless/devalued.
Yes, the avast4.ini can be edited from the “outside” - after a security warning.
These files should act the same way, so it is possible to do…
You are allowed to disable self-defence in the Program Settings. Then it should be possible for the application to do axectly that while you’re editing the files…
I guess it will take some time before all self-defence problems are ironed out… - anyway avast got one more customer today when I told a friend of mine my support story about the problems I had with the new version, and how fast the problem was solved.
Problems? Which ones? I think it’s working perfectly…
