Charge from Avast

I have this charge pending on my credit card: DRI *AVAST SOFTWARE … $39.99

This is alarming for two reasons:

  1. I have the free version.
  2. I never have supplied my credit card information to Avast.

What is going on here?

Did you ever had a paid version?
What is telling you that it is pending?
Did you perhaps clicked on “upgrade” when there was a offer?

I never have supplied my credit card information to Avast.
The message is not from avast, but from Digital River.

I completed a support ticket.

No, I never clicked upgrade. In fact, that button is still clickable. Even so… again… never supplied my credit card info.
