Are there any tools that analyze everything on a website for malicious content including all the ads and elements added by the browser or anything else? (This is besides having the AdBlock extension.)
Presumably VirusTotal only scans web pages themselves, but not those extra elements.
Virus Total doesn’t actually scan websites, they are looking at blacklists, etc. in relation to the URL provided.
You may well see URL:Mal alerts by the Web Shield, this could be third party links that are considered malicious. This could also be related to malicious ads being served.
Many (including myself) dropped AdBlock plus some time ago when they effectively sold out to the big Ad companies, including them in their white list. uBlock Origin has pretty much taken on that task on my system and previously I also used RequestPolicy add-on (doesn’t allow 3rd party content unless specifically allowed), now I have replaced that with uMatrix. These being on my Firefox browser.
I can’t see why you would need a tool (if there was one) to analyse a website/webpage when you have the Web Shield doing just that. Added to that in firefox there used to be the old Google Safe Browsing checks, not to mention if you use the AOS add-on that checks the search results.
