Avast detected 183 Viruses on a Windows XP Professional Laptop. I tried moving them to the chestbox, but it says “Virus chest server not running’ RPC communication failed.” What am I doing wrong? I use the same Avast on a Windows XP Home edition and it functions correctly.

This mean you need to repair your avast :
Please go to : Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs - clicked avast antivirus - Then choose repair.
Please try it and come back to us if still face with the same problem.

Check your computer for Malware with

update and run quick scan, click the button “remove selected” to quarantine anything found, and restart
