Well… Your installation is not good.

Please, go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove. Then choose Repair function in the popup window (Repair). You must be connected to the internet while repairing.

If this does not help, can you uninstall / boot / install / boot again?

I uninstalled Avast, I restarted, I made the download of the file setuppor.exe, I restarted, I updated, and it continues:

Yes I already had AVG Free, NOD32 - Trial, Kasperski on-line, Panda on-line, Symantec on-line, but they are whole uninstalled.
To help, I could send the installation log.
I have Zone Alarm Firewall

Seems that your trial period expired…
Anyway, I’m not an expert in log analysis :-[

This is the key demo that the program came back soon after the installation. I already substitute for a key that was sent to my e-m

Look, if the trial period was used and, after booting, you let avast using the demo key again, some functions are blocked to avoid piracy.
So, the better will be:

  1. Uninstall avast from Control Panel first.
  2. Boot
  3. Use Avast Uninstall for complete uninstallation (read http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_uninstall_util.html)
  4. Boot
  5. Install again.
  6. Boot. And right click the ‘a’ blue icon. Choose ‘About’ dialog and insert the new, free, registration key :slight_smile:

Can you post the contents of C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\Setup\Setup.log file (at least the last lines)?
Maybe we can guess what’s wrong in your installation.
The strangest thing is that you already uninstalled/booted/installed again… ::slight_smile: ???
