Chest

How does one actually get to the Chest and remove malware with this new console?

More info please.

Well I’m familuar with the old ADNM console, and in that you could connect to the virus chest remotely, not able to find it in this BC. So question is, when malware is detected how does a admin remove it remotely?

Again, I have migrated from ADNM and am using the trial version of this new BC, I have the Administrator guide, but I can not locate some information I need. I depoloyed the new version 6 out, but only some workstations are reporting on the BC. In ADNM I was able to use the command aswchams to tell the client where the server was, dont see that now either. So how do you enable the client to find the server? Also, what ports are required to be open? There is nothing about ports in the guide.

Which version…??

Already have both

Hope I can help someone else out and save the frustration I have endured today. No thanks to the Evangelist who just pointed me to documentation I already have (thanks again) I could not get my workstations to report. After much frustration and ABSOLUTELY NO DOCUMENTATION about the problem, I figured out this. On an initial deployment, you must either create a new managed group and put the computer in that group for all shields to be turned on and BC to manage the computer. If the computer is put in the default group, you must create a managed group, move the computer to the managed group, MANUALLY enable the inactive shields on the pc,then re-boot 1-2 times.

As far as the Chest problem goes, after reading the forum it appears their is no remote support to get to the virus chest. If this is true, this is rediculous. I upgraded from ADMN to this with no thought in mind Avast would actually digress on their management. I was about 5 minutes away from blowing up Avast completely and moving on. Lucky for me I have not bought a new license and am using the evaluation mode, we’ll see what I decide after 30 days.

I hope I am wrong on the remote chest, there was absolutely NO mention in the documentation about it at all. Really avast your not going to even mention it? The new web based administration is very nice, solid reporting and clean look. This BC seems to severly lack on remote management, I’m not even sure at this point if I can turn on and off shields. Anyway I’m not sure what to think other then I have spent an entire Saturday messing with something so simple. Anyone who can shed some light on my problems would be appreciated, I hope I’m ignorant on the remote management capabilities.
