China anti-virus authorities warn of new Hack_Kido computer virus

Hi all,

Are we protected by Avast about this problem ??? ??? ???..Looks creepy :-\

China’s anti-virus authorities on Sunday warned computer users to guard against mutation of Hack_Kido computer virus, which could prevent users from downloading operation system loophole patches.

The virus would monitor the users’ on-line browsing and close any web-site related with the Microsoft, preventing users from getting any help from the Microsoft web-sites, according to the Tianjin-based National Computer Virus Emergency Response Center.

Hi SpeedyPC,

So you have to establish if you are vulnerable here, as Hack_Kido is a Conficker variant:

Did you patch your Windows OS against it, well then everything is OK.
Kaspersky already has protection against this, I hope avast will also,

G’day Polonus

Yes… ;D My OS is fully up to date with MS Security patches, I didn’t know Hack_Kido is a Conficker variant unless I missed read the link site I’ve post

I was just checking if Avast control these nasty problems behind the web shield protection or something.

Cheers.
