Chrome and Firefox slow due to Avast

Hello,

I’m using:

Avast free
Win 10 Pro Version 10.0.17763
Chrome 111.0.5563.147
Firefox 111.0.1

Browsing is tragic since few days ago I’ve updated Chrome (not a FF user). I thought was a Chrome problem like sometime happens, but once I’ve tested Firefox I had the same problem, a internet connection between 120-150MB in download that looks like a 5-10MB in download with the browser that struggle to load even the avatars from linkedin, imagine utube thumbnail.

Once I shut down Avast, voilà, browsing became a breeze, I do not plan to reactivate it though.

Not sure if this is connected with some Avast update though, 'cause when I initiated a scan of a targeted disc, Avast animation (I guess there should be some animation informing me the scan is going on) was basically stuck/missing.

Repair Avast:
Open the Avast User Interface > Menu > Settings > Troubleshooting > Repair App. > Restart the Computer or,
Control Panel> Program and Features (Add/remove program)>Select Avast> Select Repair. Reboot when completed
