This has happened quite often, whenever I search certain things in google on chrome especially, the search result turns out to be infected. Avast reports a JS:ScriptIP-inf [Trj] How can a search result be infected ? My av definitions & program are up to date . Is this is a bug in avast or my system is infected ?
See: http://urlquery.net/report.php?id=136067
As what the victim describes cannot be reproduced, there must be an infection of some sort. So I would advice to follow the guide and attach the logs to be inspected by a qualified malware removal expert here,
As Pondus says, screenshot or screen capture would be helpful.
As .js file usually indicates a java exploit, especially when linked to .jsScript, this would be web-based, albeit with the trigger being on your system.
I was going to get a screenshot but I can’t replicate it anymore. All I did was clear cache and avast downloaded a new definition in the background Now when I visit it the link nothing happens.
