So Chrome will no longer support Vista machines as of April I think. Will using an old browser version present security problems and if so can Avast! prevent some of those threats?
Thanks.

avast will keep protecting you as it is doing now.
If new threads are found avast will keep adding detection/protection for/from them.
You could also switch to Sleipnir browser, all settings and extension of Chrome will run there.
Also available as Mobile App - Sleipnir Mobile - Web Browser

So there’s nothing Chrome does to prevent security problems that isn’t covered by Avast!?
Thanks, polonus. Going to check that out now.
you can still use Iron Browser or Opera Browser afaik they still work on Vista/XP …
So there's nothing Chrome does to prevent security problems that isn't covered by Avast!?avast doesn't release/create patches for security holes in applications. That is up to the developer of the applications, which in this case is Google.
About Opera:
If your system supports SSE2 all versions will work.
If the system doesn’t support SSE2 Opera 12.18 is the latest that will work (released febr. this year)
I hate how Opera does its bookmarks and pages just seem to scroll weirdly with Firefox. But if I understand you correctly a security hole in an older version of Chrome could be taken advantage of that Avast! wouldn’t catch?
Thanks.
I switched to Comodo dragon, you see my wife uses my computer occasionally that is why I had chrome installed she is used to it from my other computer that rans on win7 and w I hardly use. The thing is that she likes xp too so whenever gets the chance there she goes I thought that comodo would make her feel at home. Now my question is should I uninstall Chrome ? I do not really have any problems with space. I only use 25 GB out of 500 GB. Am I going to be nagged by Avast to install Chrome if I do so?
Thanks
