Chrome stuffed down my throat with update

 Dam Avast sneaked Chrome browser in with the last update… I did not ask for it, I don’t want it, Google and Chrome intrude everyone’s privacy… I try to keep them out of my computer, then Avast go and sneak them in… NOT GOOD ENOUGH, its like Avast spreading viruses themselves!!! :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

You should pay more attention when installing software. Many vendors now include toolbars and other unwanted programs with their software to help defray costs. You could end up with something much worse than Google Chrome.

I would also suggest never use the ‘default’ install option, always choose the “custom” install option as this allows for all options to be shown.

Far to many programs have freebies slipped in them now. You need either custom install if available or really read before clicking next.

Welcome to the forum.
Avast didn’t sneak it in. You agreed to the terms of the Default or Quick install.
Any time you do that, regardless of which program you’re installing, you have agreed to allow
the program to install whatever it’s manufacturer thought fit to include with the programs install.
Choosing the Custom method of installing avast! or any other program, affords you the luxury
of seeing exactly what’s being installed and gives you the opportunity to uncheck any items you may not want installed.
