CiceriUIWindFrame error on Fresh Install.

Hi, i’m a new user to Avast! 4 Home Edition.
Downloaded from the main website and did a clean install.
(no antivirus software installed prior to setup; except for comodo firewall and windows defender, if those counts…)

#1:
Received this error message moments after launching setup.
it says: the instruction at “0x7473669c” referenced memory at “0x01ef2454”. the memory could not be “read”.

(yeaps, rebooted many times and it’s still like that…)

kindly advice, if necessary.
thanks in advance. =]
(my PC runs fine, i’m just reporting what i’ve encountered)

using Windows XP Professional XP 2, Japan locale.
768MB RAM,
1.5Ghz Intel Centrino.

Does this occur if you boot? I mean, every time you try to install, even after booting?
Is avast setup the only program that is being crashed in your computer?

Yes. I tried cancelling setup, reboot, then run setup again. Same thing.

Yes. It’s the only program that caused the error.

( …and oops. typo for the title: CiceroUIWndFrame error on Fresh Install. =p )

Please, post the last 100-150 files of avast log: C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\log\Setup.log

Hi,
i’ve zipped and uploaded the LOG folder.

Can you search the board for 0x00002EE7 keyword?
Will any of the threads help in the solution of your case?

nope. zero matches except for your post containing that keyword.

my pc runs fine, just to remind you.
the weird error only pops up whenever i launched the avast setup program.

a bug in the avast installer, perhaps?

What do you mean by zero matches… I have quite some ones… are you doing the search correctly?
Or, on contrary, do you mean that none of the threads apply to your problem?

I don’t think so… there aren’t known bugs in the setup file. It’s working perfectly.
Do you use the English version of the setup? Where are downloading the setup file from?

okay i guess i’m blind; there’s more results than what i searched the other day… o.o;;
my bad, sorry.

anyways, i’m not a programmer. so i don’t know the significance or what i should do with “0x00002EE7” related topics.

and yes, i’ve installed using the English setup; downloaded from the main avast website.

Right now I’m lost.

Do you still have problem installing it? If so, do you use voice recognition of XPs? If not, can you remove it, reboot and try again?
