CLAM AV and IMMUNET joins together

Quote from their website

The new ClamAV for Windows is the result of a partnership between Immunet Corporation (http://www.immunet.com) and Sourcefire, Inc. (http://www.sourcefire.com). It is designed to provide the ClamAV community with a free Windows-specific Anti-Virus (AV) solution using an advanced Cloud-based protection mechanism.

Immunet placed ClamAV into their Cloud infrastructure alongside their Ethos detection engine, and several other detection technologies.

Guess what??

The size of the install is only 3.5 MB

Is Immunet providing extra security besides avast 5?
Any incompatibility issues or performance (significant) reduction?

@ Tech

I could not get IMMUNET to work properly on my XP Pro system ???

@ Chris Thomas

Its only 3.5 MB because the definitions are stored in the cloud.

@ Tech

Immunet gives you an extra layer of defense

It now protects you from about 12,027,787 malwares

@ Yokenny

Try installing it again

It has released a newer version 1.026 and is compatible with Avast 5 and I have tested it on my alternative PC with Windows XP Pro SP3

No Problems!

But, generally speaking, is the detection rate higher? ClamAV has poor detection rates in the past…

@ Chris Thomas

I’ll stick with MBAM

Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware has successfully removed 3406 different vendors and 2,998,015,547 total objects worldwide.

ClamAV generally had poor detection rate.

But this all changed recently

But now, it is powered by Immunet.

Don’t download ClamAV

You can download Immunet from

http://www.immunet.com

Immunet Protect has been working for me without problems with avast.

Immunet is very good i test it over and over and it detection rates are so high and guess what i am on dial-up

Same here and I’m running Win 7 32 bit.

Hi bob3160,

Just upgraded ImmunetProtect to the latest version, very satisfied with it, detections doubled recently, this is an “in the cloud” av-solution that works for me as an additional security layer.
Thanks all for sharing their experiences with it in this thread,

friend polonus

Hi,

I use immunet protect and i know it’s light and effective.

But do i have to register or create an account so that i’m in the "cloud’?

@ sj

You don’t need to register. You just need to install it. Thats all.

The register option is only for sharing it with other people on Facebook or Twitter

Polonus, did you compare it with Panda Cloud Antivirus? Which is more effective.
Man, the Immunet GUI is ugly! Also only 85,000+ users… seems very little.

Is this a dream? avast is among the engines: http://www.eecs.umich.edu/fjgroup/cloudav/

Edit:

Head to Head: Immunet Protect vs. Panda Cloud.

http://en.onsoftware.com/head-to-head-immunet-protect-vs-panda-cloud/

lol why not working together ???
Haha anyway let’s start making more people join ^^

Thanks anjandavid.
Indeed, Panda is not for us, avast users.
I can’t found any other in-the-cloud antivirus available to run with avast.
Is there any? ???

Thank you Tech.

I think u can try PREVX.

It is one of the best cloud based antivirus programme.

Thanks

@ anjandavid

You can not use PREVX with avast!

CEO of Immunet told me that they are going to have a new GUI and a new 2.0 version this coming April.

They are also planning to release a pro-version

Lets Hush things up :-X
