"Claro Search" virus started after download from CNET

Neither the Avast quick scan nor my Spybot malware program could detect this. I was able to get Avast to block the site in my browsers. Uninstalling Claro through Windows also did nothing. Thank you!

Hi first thing to do is run two programmes. The first AdwCleaner will remove all the visible elements and the second OTL will show me any remnants

CLEAR THE BAD TOOLBARS

Download AdwCleaner from here to your desktop
Run AdwCleaner and select Delete

Once done it will ask to reboot, allow this
On reboot a log will be produced please attach that

THEN

Download OTL to your Desktop

[*]Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.

[*]Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
[*]When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
[*]Post both logs

OK-- browsers appear to be working normally now-- I have the text files but would rather not share them with the world-- is there another way to verify all clean? Thanks

You can attach them here and as soon as I have downloaded them you can remove them

I would like to post my OTL log file. I realize I cant PM you essex.

I was in a hurry last night and zipped through an loaded installation. My Bad.

I performed what you suggested for Lincoln.

Would I be able to send them to you in a more discrete fashion?

Has AdwCleaner removed all of the Clario ? If not attach the OTL log and as soon as I have downloaded it you may delete it… But there is no personal data on the scan

I haven’t had any issues after I used the AdwCleaner program. Here’s the report anyway. Just to be safe.
