Clients partially reverting settings

This has been going on for a week, so not sure what is happening.

Avast! keeps re-enabling Deep Screen and occasionally the Firewall on some computers; prompting them to reboot. Person reboots, Deep Screen is enabled, firewall is enabled, prompt for reboot remains. Really unsure what’s causing this, majority of computers seem to doing okay.

I’ve had to go and disable Deep Screen manually for a few people.
Also found that on Anti-Spam the Whitelist is empty on a substantial number of clients, this has been causing outgoing emails to take 5-30s before they clear, causing outlook to not respond.

Any ideas?

Note - Most of these computers are Win7 Pro that are having the problem.

How do you apply the settings ?
Through the dashboard/console or on the client systems ?

The settings had been applied to the dashboard, yes. A vast majority of clients respond to dashboard changes, but for whatever reason only a few seem to be picking and choosing what to run. On computers that have Deep Screen activated, I have to manually disable it. But I can’t seem to get them to go back to getting the config from the online dashboard.

Not really sure why they’re freaking out.

No clue on why it is happening so I will leave it to someone else to have a look.

I just checked, because suddenly curious. Found that on a machine that is having the problem, bccavsvc isn’t running. The program is completely up to data, in both Definitions and Program version, and has been restarted TWICE today. Wondering what could be causing this.

Hmm, just some things you can check/try…

Is (or was) there any other av (or security) software installed on that system ?
If so, was it removed completely ? (through control panel isn’t enough)

Remove avast from that system through the dashboard/console.
Run avastclear on it.
After that, remove all leftovers (folders, files, registry entries) manually from that system.
Deploy avast again on that system.
Only do it if you want ofcourse and there is no guarantee that it will change/solve things.

At most they have Windows Defender on them. But that’s all. I’d like to avoid messing with the installation simply because I have to kick people out of their chairs, also Read-Only Friday c:
