Hello,
Here is just my opinion. General just means general and this is an anti-virus discussion forum, maybe the anti-virus discussion forum. These two things I have grasped right, did not I?
Well I think everything that is related to avast security fits in this thread. Here I like to read about anti-malware in general, also about other AV products and vendors, and what kind of new things they offer. The time that an AV and FW product were enough, those days are gone forever, and probably will never return. So I want to read about what I have to do against scripts, what kind of new vulnerabilities exist, and how to protect against these. About Intrusion Detection, about System Monitoring, about Safe Browsing, all sort of things that are additional to Avast and the various protection it gives to my OS. The more because Avast is an all-round AV solution. For this security related news I do not want to go to another forum or to a search-engine, I want to read it here, and most of all I want it discussed here. I learned a lot here, and I have put my two cents in once in a while.
In this forum I do not need personal things of members or how they relate to other members, nor their flames or hang-ups.
They must not agree with me in technical issues, the more because I like to understand matters better when they explain their points of view into minute detail.
In this forum I do not need anything that is not related to security. These things are really what off topic means, I mean holiday photos, personal views on things other than security related. I think everybody here perfectly knows what should be in the general and what shouldn’t be, and if you have nothing to post about, do not post or go to another forum. ;D ;D
There are forums about knitting, embroidery, about games, about motorcars, and holiday resorts, about coins and stamps, religion, politics and whatever man has thought up. I for one stick to the Avast general forum for all things related to this board security wise and technically related to security and prevention of any kind of malware.
That is my point of view,
