Cloud in Avast real time

Why cant Avast get a cloude scanning in realtime, it should be in all version of avast (Free,Pro,IS)

Hmm. ???

Methinks the answer is no… There is a thread giving the reason somewhere but alas I forget where it is

what was the reason :o

Of what…???

to not get a cloud scanner

avast uses heuristics to detect viruses, malware and spyware. A cloud…I don’t know…sounds cumbersome(sp). ???

Well, cloud is the new word for cluster or better for heap of servers...

We have heap of servers that are delivering the updates, heap of servers gaining the samples, heap of servers analyzing them and heap of servers making the virus database update.
So it is cloud of clouds, who’s da king?

There are cloud components in avast.

wOw i dident know that

That’s quite obvious.

yes, but where can i see how its going ore running

Sorry, I’ve no idea what you’re talking about.

like the file system shield, i can see what its scanned and i can config it. i want to see the cloud like that

Sorry, but again no idea what you mean.
Here’s some info from Vlk… (Hope this helps)

...there's a bunch of "cloud" features already. Detections are heavily based on feedback gathered from automatic submissions (especially from the Behavior Shield). CommunityIQ data is also used for prioritization. And of course, WebRep is completely cloud based (in fact, the file cloud will share the backend infrastructure with WebRep).

ok i understand

ePlay, do you really want your File System Shield to be making synchronous connections to our backend servers, before allowing you to open programs, libraries and other files? This will typically have real negative impact on your system’s performance.

There are generally better ways to accomplish s similar thing.

Ohh, thank you VLK. now i understand. but are there any clue wats going to be in the new Avast 7

Thank you very much Vik, this helped to me too!

There is already a pinned thread which aks for your feedback for avast 7…
Be a part of the new feature…

Thanks
