comments on the firewall

OK I’ve already posted a couple of threads and posts about this firewall, had hardly any feedback from Avast, but I wouldn’t mind some feedback from users…so what do you guys think of the general behavior of this firewall… I don’t have the feeling that there are many here using it but it’s still worth asking, what did you observe, when compared to other solutions etc…etc…thanks
And if anybody heard of an external/neutral test about it, feel free to share, I’m really interested; ie how does it perform through professional tests versus Online Armor, Comodo IS or PCtoolsFW  I wouldn’t actually mind if Avast sent a copy to Matousec for instance, or anyone else reputed enough btw…

ps: I wasn’t sure before starting this thread if it would fit better to the general topic section, feel free to move if needed.

I did not install it but I would be surprised at this stage if it levels at all minimally to Comodo FW or OA FW at all!!! Too early bird!!!

I purchase update from Avast Pro to Avast IS and like all options and all features. Firewall is fantastic, very simple and effective.

did you try to uninstall an application, remove the entry in the application rules list, reinstall the application, and see if you get a new alert (when fw set on “ask”) or just a new automatically created rule (when fw set on auto-decide)?

Why should I do about, if I have at least all the work? Are you perhaps wanted to show the answer to any other person?

The market for Firewall applications is in tight competition and, if someone is already happy with a certain firewall, I don’t think he/she is willing to change it with Avast! 5 firewall very soon… The competition among Sandbox application is, too, quite tight… In fact, Sandboxie released its beta version for 64 bit OSes. The tight competition is not bad things for us end-users but it must be hard for those in the middle of the competition…

what ??? I going there right now, thanks ;)
