Like other users, I’ve been happy that Avast Free - for many months - hasn’t served me with pop up ads. Then this morning, I decided, having read that it’s necessary for Cyber Capture, to enable ‘Participate in the Avast Community’ … within half an hour I’d received a pop-up invitation to upgrade, possible a coincidence but probably not. I accept that Avast needs to advertise within its free product but, given the choice, would rather not have them so I’ve turned the ‘participation’ option off again.
