I have Comodo firewall V3 what file should I add to it for avst to auto update?
The avast.setup is the file that requires internet access, the problem is that isn’t a permanent file, it is created at the time of update. When created it is in the C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\Setup folder, just check if this file has already been allowed or blocked and ensure it is allowed.
You could do a manual iAVS update and that should have comodo ask permission if it isn’t allowed. If comodo doesn’t ask and the avast update doesn’t start it is blocked in comodo.
Other files that require access for normal avast use, ashMaiSv.exe and ashWebSv.exe in the C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ folder.
I have quotes this so the Topic is complete otherwise it would be hanging without confirmation of queery.
Delete any avast entries that I previously mentioned and reconnect to the internet, browse the web comodo should ask permission for ashWebSv.exe.
Try to collect your email, comodo should ask permission for ashMaiSv.exe. Now try a manual update of avast (right click the avast ‘a’ icon, select Updating, iAVS Update), comodo should ask permission for avast.setup. This is I feel easier than trying to do it manually, I also don’t use comodo so I can’t be of any practical help with its settings.
comodo v3 is compatible with avast .
if you can’t upload when V3 start
hope my setting will give you reference
go to firewall ——> common tasks ——> Define a new trusted application ——> select “ashUpd.exe”
remember “apply”
This is the executable for the command line Professional version update.
avast.setup is the one that really connects and downloads the updates.
Also, aswUpdSv.exe is the avast! Update Service, that does not connect either.
