Comodo Beta 3.0.10.238 FIREWALL INSTALLATION

Hi. I uninstalled previous beta version first (since it wasn’t updating). This new beta version installation was more difficult. Now it’s running smoothly on my Vista Intel processor, but it’s still on learning safe mode. I choose the more advanced HIPS DEFENSE+ installation, so you may choose to install only the simple FIREWALL by itself to have less problems. Me I like Comodo. Be sure to download the correct file (32 bits, attention 64 bits is only for AMD processors!).

I’ve tested it without success… It’s the third beta I’ve tested… No way to get the firewall to work properly. I can’t applaud Comodo for this

The repair tool does not work either :frowning:

Like Tech, I keep testing their newest version when ever one is available and.
Like Tech, nothing but headaches.
PCTools Firewall Plus is working well on both XP and Vista.

Wonder how many pages this latest Comodo thread will get. ???

I’ve tried it again… service is not automatically starting

Tech,

Your supposed to be reporting the Comodo Firewall for beta testing at their forum website not in here, otherwise your not helping Comodo to make the final release software.

Lucky for me I’m not a beta tester cause I don’t want to damage my PC…yeah I know ;D I’m a lazy mouse for not teating but I can run a lot faster than you ;D.

I did. I’ve tested more than 10 times to have Comodo working. I’m registered at their forum too, but I get nothing, I mean, they tried to help but they (and I) do not succeed.

PM a person name Justin??? at comodo who used to came here as a former Avast member if that helps

I’ve done last time… we lost…

Bummer ??? Then you better go back to ZA until Comodo release the final version for Vista…Lucky me I’m still on XP Pro and not ready until MS stop supporting XP :stuck_out_tongue:

No, for sure not.

Simply put, there's a bug in the Vista version of ZoneAlarm that is preventing the avast webshield provider from working properly. That is, it IS working properly, but the connections are really slow (for each new connection, there's roughly a 2 second delay). The only workaround I have at this time is to replace ZoneAlarm with something else(sorry). Hopefully, this issue in ZA will be fixed soon (avast is not the only application that is affected by this).

Hi guys!!! My only problem now for this version is that it takes double the time (10 minutes) to start-up windows Vista and some icons are missing in the system tray (BoClean 4.25, sometimes SpywareTerminator). May be it’s still in learning mode. Previous beta was working better. Otherwise, everything is perfect. For one thing, if you are advanced and understand pcs, you shouldn’t break it with this. Only problem is patience (some people don’t have it!) and with the beta installation it is REQUIRED!!! ;D

Unfortunately when it crashes your system, patience isn’t the answer,
another firewall like PCTools is. ;D

Now I can’t get PCTools to work… something is blocking any firewall to be installed. Still a mystery to me…

I’m not mistaking but you have to REMOVE all your old firewalls remnants to install a new firewall properly. May be this is the source of problems… :frowning:

I’m doing so… I just have Windows Vista firewall, nothing more…

I’m trying the latest Beta of Comodo. So far so good. Runs fine on my XP SP2 system.

The problem is always on Vista

Now now Tech keep your chin up high Comodo is trying very very hard to get it to work and running stable on Vista, and you know why Comodo is trying to get as many beta tester support and help build the latest new firewall for Vista platforum.

Tech is your Vista 32 or 64 bit platforum Comodo saying the 64 bit is not very stable in the beta version before the final release will take a while…Tech please try and ;D

No, I don’t know… well, I can suppose…

32 bits.

Well, I reported my only problem upon installing Comodo 3 beta firewall on my Vista 32 bits intel system is that it messed up a bit things in the start-up registry so it took about 5-6 minutes more to reboot my PC. Now after upgrading to the latest AVAST program, everything is fine, I reboot in 4-5 minutes much faster. This firewall is weird!!! Then i have some minor problems with the AVAST Screen Saver and comodo firewall when I’m supposed to return to the password logon screen, it freezes even though I said comodo to allow it with memory so many times. Well, not much problems if it behaves as it should…
