It’s the second time. The last two major critical Windows Vista Update installation have failed with Comodo firewall (v.276) ON. Only way to succeed the UPDATE is to return to Windows Vista Firewall and to completely remove COMODO FIREWALL which is not recognized by MICROSOFT. Well, in this case, it kills it for me!!! Do I have to re-install it each time after and re-download my updates three to four times to understand. Tech was right!!! Their support is rotten and they let in what they want!!! >:(
Despite this problem, they are still singing Comodo’s praises… :
No more Comodo on Vista. I’m really considering if I will keep on XP… but it’s working, I won’t fix. On Vista, just troubles.
I wanted to install Windows Vista Firewall Control (September 2007) but I haven’t understood if I have to disable the build-in Vista Firewall. Then I found it rather complicated. I choose instead the ligth PCTools Plus firewall hoping it won’t interfere with the MICROSOFT CRITICAL UPDATES (WOOFFF!!!). Only problem, after succeeding with the Updates and uninstalling Comodo, my already installed WOT and SITE ADVISOR plug-ins in FIREFOX asked me to accept their terms and conditions again. Then Firefox was acting as if it was newly installed (asked me if to send information over the net, etc…) Weird… !!! I’ll do some scanning for spywares tonight. ???
Weird indeed!!! In firefox, something unchecked the delete personal information and data square in options!!! :o
Hmmm… better be sure you’re clean…
Removing the automatic cleaning of temporary files seems suspect…
are you using ver 3? Of course

Comodo Firewall Should be Recongized by Windows,
I Love comodo Firewall (v3- latest)
Hi!!! I had v. 3 (latestv.276). I followed your link and as it says the only way around is to COMPLETELY REMOVE the COMODO FIREWALL. This is unacceptable! They should make sure every Windows Update installation is not interfered. Can’t dig Comodo for what they did to me today!!!
have you tried to right click the Icon > go to Firewall Settings > Disable “allow all” and right Click icon > defense Settings > Disabled or allow all ???
have no problem with pctools firewall on both my xp and vista laptops with windows updates
I have No Trouble on my Vista Machine w/ CFP 3 (test machine)
Yes cgpmaster, I tried to disable DEFENSE+ but this system is so strong and powerful that the only solution is to remove the COMODO FIREWALL completely for sure. PC Tool Plus Firewall is user friendly and I hope without problems with the Updates but I’m not an expert to recommend it… Hope AILWIL (AVAST) is not taking too much of an example COMODO FIREWALL for it’s next firewall (hopefully soon!!!). Be sure to be in close touch with Microsoft (what a shame Comodo!!!). :o
cgpmaster, you are a lucky one. Have you installed today’s updates? :-X
for vista?
I believe that’s what this thread is about.

Well you are lucky!!! Anyhow, I think many Comodo 3 Firewall users experienced some of these installations problems on Vista and it is reported on their forum. So far, it is sad to say they haven’t found any cure! :-[

Technolgicly Speaking, I dont think NO Company was ready for vista…
Yeah I saw you in the forum…
I’ll PM you if they found a solution
Sometimes,it gets a bit tedious, hearing Vista users, complaing about other programs not working on their computers. What did you expect :o .Personally, I wouldn’t have Vista if it were free.If Comodo causes problems, find a firewall that doesn’t.
