Hay guys
Few days a go i decided to try avast 6 free with comodo firewall latest
It was working fine until i notice that sometimes it conflicts
When booting up i mean first thing that happens is icons start to load slow
Then when you try to end a task in task manager system hangs
I have to force restart and it gos back to normal no conflicts you use it
After some time again same problem i got so tired of this problem i removed comodo firewall
And installed outpost it was ok no conflicts but it was really pain
So after some thinking i decided to use the same old combo Comodo + Avast
I am installing it at the time i am writing this topic, So there must be a reason they
Where conflicting right i mean i have avast only anti-virus, And comodo only firewall
So why where they conflicting are there any settings i should do in comodo or avast
Please let me know.

You need to place exclusions for the two programs between each other, add the comodo program file to the exclusions in the avast file system shield and all avast processes need to be set to allow all in the comodo apps list.

I have added both programs in each others trusted list
How it works well

There should just be three exe services to set to allow all which are avast gui, avast sevices and avast setup, you might hve to run a manual avast update before you see the setup exe.

Hi,
I find this very odd.
I’ve been running avast (free) and Comodo (fw+D+) side by side for ears and I have never had an issue.
I have no exclusions set and I’m quite the control freak.
Me Neither Has Exclusions… N Work Seamlessly…
Cheers…

Sometimes that happens…well at least in my case.
I have a couple of systems with CIS ver5.8 Stable --one XP SP3 and a Win7 x32 with Avast IS(no firewall). In the Win7 system there is no exclusions placed on both Avast/CIS(from versions 5.5/5.8Beta and now ver5.8 Stable).
But in XPSP3 system with CIS (ver5.8Beta then) I had to place exclusions in CIS because it showed a pop-up about avast.setup(that was a surprise) and it seemed that it had a hard time learning the rules although it is in Trusted. Same with CIS version5.5 Stable. Now with CISver5.8 Stable there is no exclusions now.
Previously exclusions (when using CISver5.3 till ver5.4) I place the:
CIS D+ Settings\Execution Control\Exclusions
C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\Setup\avast.setup
Avast IS Exclusions
C:\Program Files\Comodo
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Comodo
Observations may vary as per your system/set-up.
