Comodo STILL supporting the criminal fraternity (the bad guys)
From the desk of when will they learn, comes yet more evidence from Mike Burgess, of Comodo’s involvement, and willing involvement given their lack of action to prevent such, in the support of the criminal networks of the interwebs.

Uhh… more misinformation, I see. HopSurf is a Comodo product. EULA
Well, I like and respect their firewall. I think in time there AV will be very good too.It will be interesting to see some results, such as AV comparatives. As for the toolbar, is it not optional ? As in a lot of other products ( Ccleaner,Foxit etc )
I think some people have it in for Comodo, full stop.
If you don’t like it , don’t install it. Simple
Foxit have some such toolbar ? in all past installations i not noticed such bloat infestation …
about comodo … i gave up on them last year since i realized they handling out certificates to spyware, malware and scam even after being informed about …
For a second lets leave Ask! and Comodo out of the picture.
Ccleaner on its normal install, updated through the program,
from Filehippo, does install the Yahoo toolbar, default checked.
Now,suppose people began to complain about this, and the CEO of
Piriform,rides in on a pale horse,and proclaims:
“We have heard your cries! No longer will we even offer the Yahoo
toolbar! Rather,we have designed,in-house, a wonderful little utility
that will check for old drivers, system wide, and alert you!
It will also be default install, and will come with a search function!!
Yahoo,only of course!”
Isn’t that the real purpose of toolbars? To promote use of their search engine?
Comodo has chosen to stay in bed with Ask!,and
the disingenuous way they maintained their affiliation, is an insult to
the intelligence of those who had a problem with it from the start.
Hell, they could have at least foisted something like the driver checker
utility I made up,that would have at least related to system maintenance,
if not to security.
Comodo: Watch your staff please (oh and a little correction)
Not content with Melih’s blaming MS MVP, Donna Buenaventura for a blog posting by someone else, one of Melih’s moderators have gone one step further and posted;
So, it seems Softpedia has been right after all… I don’t use any personal firewall except Windows Firewall and I’m not directly affected by the issue. However, this makes some impact on “free” security software marketing.
