Comodo's free Verification Engine Tool

Hi malware fighters,

Who uses this free program?
http://www.vengine.com/index.html

Is this also something avast contemplates to combine with their new firewall?

See why read here about URL obfuscation:
The tools to do it, can be found here:
http://www.fravia.com/tools.htm#uo
for instance this server address (not found) http://77.238.187.39 = http://0x4D.0xEE.0xBB.0x27 = http://0x4DEEBB27 = http://0115.0356.0273.047 = http://1307491111

How to do it can be read through here:
http://bothack.wordpress.com/2006/07/25/url-obfuscation/
http://www.contentverification.com/obfuscation-attacks/index.html

and whatever the obfuscation, you make it all readable again with this Flock/FF-add-on:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3899
So I stick with my Netcraft toolbar for a while,

polonus

reminds me of wot or finjan or sideadvisor damian ::slight_smile:

Hi Dan,

Well here is your “fries”. But returning to the topic. A lot of these in-browser like siteadvisor and WOT results are not actual results but given as they came from users. DrWeb’s av hyperlink plug-in results are the actual results against the servers of DrWeb’s, and then we have avast’s WebShield, also actual as you get them from the updated avast signatures.
The best avoidance and protection is brought in through the most recent NoScript add-on for Flock and Firefox. Next to that and only to be had on clean machines is Spyware Blaster’s protection for both Firefox and Flock now available within the latest 4.0 version. As you surf without admin’s rights, I think there is not much that can happen there, so let’s enjoy the burger and the fries with as you are in Holland mayonnaise or frites-sauce, but I like it best with piccalilli,

polonus

have both noscript and spywareblaster-running in firefox and etc…
those are some fake looking fries damian

Hi Dan,

Good for you, your in browser protection is apt and up to date.
And considering the fries (French or Dutch or whatever?)
You would not later see me do this:

Damian

sorry for being off-topic

http://hautesecure.com/index.aspx wonder how many sideadvisor, wot, finjan type clones are out there ???
Haute Secure is a browser toolbar that aims to provide protection from malicious web sites, advertisements, photos, and embedded links that can expose users to malware and other threats. The software provides site ratings based on community feedback and allows you to contribute by submitting your own votes for the sites you visit. The more people use Haute Secure, the safer your computer is from data theft - unfortunately (since this is a brand-new product) very few people are using the software at this point, so the security value and feedback are a mere concept and should not be considered reliable yet. If you would like to help build the community, give it a try, if you are looking for reliable online security features, you should wait until Haute Secure has matured.
don’t know a-thing about it-knowing you damian-you will try it-then let me know how it is ;D
and what browsers do it work with ???

Hi Dan,

I always try to present information from both sides, and I am glad that you are satisfied with it. I had a Packard Bell once and a lot of mishap with that machine, my Acer now seems better.
Yes everybody seems to be in in-browser security, the latest craze, we should ask our forum members for their favorite one, I would vote for finjan and WOT,

Damian
