This happens when I boot up. Can I stop this from happening at boot? I would rather do complete virus scans at any other time than that because it takes about 10-15 minutes before I can do anything. I am a newbie with this program so any help will be appreciated.
Right click on the round ball with “a” in your task bar. START Avast Antivirus. If you are using standard display you might try “menu” and change to “Advanced Interface” in there (if you have Pro version) you will see on the right side, Scheduler. Click on Scheduler and up at the top of the interface you will see Scheduler, and at the bottom is Boot time scan. Click on it. It will say something like “Boot time scan is scheduled, do you want to remove it?” in this case it is “yes”.
I hope this is clear enough. I don’t have it do a boot time scan, and I didn’t know it was an options until you mentioned it.
Would be nice if it was also listed in the scanning “schedule” on the right side that you could click on an “delete” schedule.
