Completely delete avast! ?

Hello,

I’ve tried to completely delete avast! - I also used the tool, which you can download, but there are still Files left in the registry :frowning: Is there a chance to delete avast! “completely” from the system??

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_ASWRDR
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_AMON
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\Root\LEGACY_ASWRDR
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\Root\LEGACY_ASWTDI

and maybe some other entrys? But the registry is blocking these parts… so will there be a reason to delete avast! with all it’s registry-entrys?

I believe the legacy keys are created by windows, but could be wrong.

Right click on the key and take ownership of it, e.g. in permissions, allow ‘everyone’ Full Control, that should allow you to delete it.

Yes, the keys are created by Windows itself… and they will also be deleted by Windows “when the time comes”.

May I ask why you are such in an urge to delete Avast ?

Read his other topic he has an unresolved problem with vista not recognising avast is present and what has been suggested to get vista to recognise it has failed, though avast works vista keeps saying it isn’t there http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=26564.0
