I’m running some really huge programs and I want Avast to be completely disabled. I’m aware I can turn off the shields, but it still takes up 13 mb of ram and I really don’t have any to waste on something I can just turn off. Is there any way to do this without uninstalling it ten times a day?
HI ChaosWT first I just have to ask a question what version of avast are you running and what is your operating system? witch avast are you using avast free, paid or avast security?
thanks
It’s avast free on Windows 7 x64
May I ask why you would want your machine unprotected from an AV while you are running other programs or even turned on?
It’s because I’ll be running programs that take up almost all of my ram to use and I really can’t afford to be wasting any on something I don’t need to be running.
Is there any way to do this without uninstalling it ten times a day?ClamWin or Bitdefender on demand scanner only......no real time protection :-[
ClamWin http://filehippo.com/download_clamwin/
Bitdefender http://filehippo.com/download_bitdefender/
Alright, thanks anyway
Another option ( and safer ) would be to add more ram if every little bit is so desperatly needed, a 64 bit system should have a minimum of 4gig anyway.
