Computer Catalog List Contradiction

Hey all

Question: in the console, if I click the icon for the main “Computer catalog” list, all the found PCs are listed and display current install information, etc., just like they should.

The “Computer catalog” subdirectory, which is our domain, is showing different information. First off, it’s not listing all the PCs, and second, it’s saying that none of the PCs it is listing have the client installed.

Is there a reason for this discrepancy? I’ve refreshed everything, re-run discovery tasks, etc., but nothing changes.

Any info would be appreciated!
Maury

Uh, I think I don’t understand the question… what is the reason between “main Computer catalog list” and Computer catalog subdirectory, which is our domain"?

Maybe a screenshot would it make it clear?

Thanks
Vlk

The main “Computer catalog” list:

The sub-directory list:

Notice the two are different and the domain directory shows no clients are installed, when they are – as seen in the main computer catalog.

Hmm, sorry, but what do you mean by “shows no clients are installed, when they are – as seen in the main computer catalog” – as seen? I mean, these are DIFFERENT machines, right?

That is, is the agent really installed on machines like ACCOUNTING, AMYM, BACKUP1 and so on??

Okay, I think I see what’s going on. The machines in the bottom list do not have clients installed, but the machines listed in the top pic do.

So, I take it that the console, when you click the “Computer catalog” icon, lists only those systems with installed and active clients? And if you click one of the sub-folder (like I did in the second pic), all machines on the network that still need clients installed are listed?

Well, it looks like you haven’t deployed the managed clients to the MIKENSPECIALTIE group yet… I mean, it seems that only the machines located in the root group of the Catalog have the avast netclient product installed, the rest does not (so far)…

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I use the Dynamic computer groups to show which have and have not got ther client installed. Much clearer to see there.
